Erev Shabbat Information
Hosting AssignmentsDid you know that everyone in the Chavurah is expected to host a service? This way everyone helps out and everyone will host about only once a year. You will be assigned a service, but you can switch if necessary. Please find another member to switch with and let the services coordinator know by writing to services@chav.net. If you are assigned to "Challah," please bring two loaves of challah. If you are assigned to "Wine/Juice," please bring one bottle of wine and one bottle of grape juice. Because we are reciting a blessing, we encourage the use of kosher wine and kosher grape juice for Kiddush. Hosts must also arrive early to set up (arrange chairs, put out cups, napkins, candles, books, etc.), pour and serve wine/juice during announcements, and stay after services to clean up (put back chairs, collect books and services, clean off table, etc.). Someone from the Steering Committee will unlock and lock the doors, but it is the hosts' responsibility to set up and clean up. Oneg ShabbatIn order to have a more plentiful and diverse Oneg Shabbat after services, we are asking everyone to please consider bringing something to eat or drink for each service or at least every other service that you attend. Please remember that all of our Oneg Shabbats are dairy/veggie, kosher by ingredient; cookies, fruit, and seltzer are especially recommended!! Thanks everyone! ! |
